Multitalented Milton J. “Milt” Hinton was bass player, singer, bandleader, composer, photographer, researcher and author – and above all one of the most respected musician in jazz. The jazz musicians called him “The Judge”. The eightfold Doctor honoris was selected in the Down Beat Hall of Fame and received many awards, for example the Benny Carter Award.

He and his wife Mona were very close to Hans Zurbrügg and Marianne Gauer Zurbrügg. Milt opened the Marians Jazzroom in 1992.
